Tilapia and Zucchini Burger recipe



  • 1 and 1/2 pounds ground tilapia
  • 5  green onions, cleaned and checked, chopped
  • red bell pepper, finely diced
  • large unpeeled zucchini, grated
  • eggs
  • cloves garlic, chopped or 4 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
  • 2-3 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley, cleaned and checked or 6-9 cubes Dorot Gardens Frozen Parsley
  • 1 and 1/2 teaspoons ground cumin
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • Gefen Canola Oil, for searing


  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • zest and juice of 2 lemons
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped or 2 cubes Gefen Frozen Garlic
  • salt and pepper to taste


Start Cooking

Make the Burgers

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground fish and all the ingredients except for the oil.
  • Form mixture into 3 and 1/2 inch patties.
  • In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat. Sear burgers on each side for two to three minutes.
  • Transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 10-15 minutes or until thoroughly cooked.
  • To plate: Serve these alone (with the dipping sauce, of course) or on a burger with all the trimmings.
  • For the Sauce
  • Combine all ingredients in a small bowl and mix well.
